Zuula: Lyantonde District in Central Uganda



Cattle are the main livestock kept by farmers in Lyantonde. It is estimated that there are 83,700 of cattle in the District. Other animals that are raised include goats, sheep, pigs and poultry.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS CALLED ROLEX? “Rolex”  is a popular food item in Uganda, combining an egg omelette and vegetables wrapped in a chapati. Rolex is classic Ugandan street food. The basic idea is eggs cooked with cabbage, onion, tomato, and sometimes peppers, which is then wrapped in chapati. But, as the words careened off their tongue, “Rolled Eggs” sounded more like “Rolex” to visitors. THE ANKORE CULTURE OF UGANDA www.zulatravels.com Ankole kingdom was one of the four big traditional kingdoms in Uganda at the time of independence covering the present districts of Mbarara, Bushenyi, Ntungamo, Kiruhura, Ibanda and Isingiro in western Uganda.
